South Lane SD, along with other local school districts and agencies, utilizes the FlashAlert Newswire system for emergency messages, such as breaking news or weather closure information. FlashAlert maintains a web page with our information (the page auto-refreshes every half hour and can alert you if it finds new information), and provides a link to an RSS version for web browsers and RSS reader programs to monitor and pull in new information.

In addition, South Lane SD enables you to subscribe to the messages we post, receiving the information as emails or cell phone text messages.

As the new school year begins, we encourage you to:

• Update Your Information - Current subscribers may want to review or update your contact information (e.g., email address, cell phone) to ensure ongoing communication.
• Sign Up - New subscribers may register up to three email and/or cell text message addresses to receive alerts. The process is quick and you'll instantly be updated as South Lane SD posts new information.

In order to balance instructional hours for the 2008-2009 school year and remain at or above the minimum state standard, the South Lane School Board has implemented a full day of school on Wednesday, May 20, 2009. This action is necessary as a result of cutting six days from the school calendar to off-set budget reductions. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Due to the likelihood that both the boys and girls Cottage Grove High School basketball teams will be playing in the state tournament in Corvallis beginning Wednesday, March 11th through Saturday
