Overview Information

Superintendent Krista Parent came to the district in 1985 as a first year teacher out of the University of Oregon. Krista began her teaching career at Lincoln Junior High before moving to Cottage Grove High School as an Assistant Principal. In 1994 Krista moved to the District Office as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and worked with 5 different superintendents in less than two years. In 1996 Krista was named the Assistant Superintendent where she served under Superintendent Bob Sisk for five years. As Assistant Superintendent Krista was responsible for the "Build It" campaign which eventually led to the bond passing to build the new high school. In 2001 Krista was named Superintendent of South Lane School District where she has served since. Krista's leadership has led to a number of significant achievements in the district including improved student academic performance for high school students. Krista was the first and only Oregon Superintendent to have ever been named National Superintendent of the Year. She received this award in 2007. Krista earned her Bachelor's, Master's and Doctorate Degrees from the University of Oregon. Krista's doctoral thesis was titled "Women in the Oregon Superintendency."

Executive Assistant Lorelei Kyllonen came to South Lane in 2008 to serve as the top assistant to the Superintendent and School Board. Lorelei previously worked for 10 years as the top legal assistant to the City of Springfield's attorney. Lorelei oversees the distribution of school board information and the office of the superintendent. Lorelei attended college in Nevada studying to be a certified Court Reporter.

Assistant Superintendent Julie DePauw served as the Principal of London School from 1990-1992 before leaving South Lane for Springfield School District. In Springfield Julie served as Principal of Moffitt Elementary School for 5 years before leaving to open the new River Bend Elementary School. Julie also served as Principal of Howard Elementary in Eugene School District before returning to South Lane School District as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction in 2003. Julie was appointed Assistant Superintendent in 2007. Julie received her Bachelor's Degree from UC Santa Barbara, her Master's Degree from the University of Oregon, and her Doctorate also from the University of Oregon. Julie's doctoral thesis was focused on mentoring.

Special Education Director Chris Parra came to South Lane School District in 1989 as a teacher at London School. Chris then taught at Lincoln Middle School as a 6th grade block teacher until 1998. In 1998 Chris returned to London School as Co-Principal/Teacher with Laurie Klein. In 2001 Chris became the Principal of Latham Elementary School and served there until 2004 when she became the Director of Special Education for the district. Chris earned her Bachelor's Degree from Western Oregon University in 1989 and her Master's Degree from the University of Oregon in 2000. Chris completed her Doctoral Program in 2004 and her doctoral thesis was titled "A Program Evaluation of a Full Day Kindergarten for Children with a Specific Language Impairment."

Human Resource Director Tim Rochholz began his teaching career in 1984 at Lincoln Junior High. He taught Career Education, Math and U.S. History and served as the Junior High Athletic Director. Tim also coached cross country, wrestling and track. In 1989 he went to the Eugene School District and was Principal at Howard Elementary and Kelly Middle Schools for 16 years. Tim returned to South Lane School District in 2007 as the Director of Human Resources. Tim received his Bachelor's Degree from George Fox University and his Master's Degree from the University of Oregon.

Instruction and Learning Director Todd Hamilton started his teaching career in Hermiston, Oregon in 1995. Todd then moved to Buena Vista School in the Eugene School District where he taught from 1997-2001. From 2001 to 2007 Todd served as a Curriculum and Staff Development Specialist. Todd has also been a lead member in Oregon's Ed Tech Cadre for the state. Todd earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Oregon in 1993 and his Master's Degree from Pacific University in 1995.

Business Supervisor Connie Rounsaville started working for South Lane School District in 1987. Connie first served as the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Special Education and Elementary Education. In 1995 she became the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and School Board where she served until 2000. In 2000 Connie was named the Business Supervisor overseeing and managing all aspects of finance for the district.

Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor Ron Lester came to the district in 1980 as the custodian at Latham Elementary School. From 1984 to 1995 Ron served in the areas of Warehouse and Purchasing Coordinator for the district. In 1995 Ron was appointed to serve as the Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor overseeing all 9 school campuses, 4 district buildings and the numerous acres of grounds owned by the district.

Food Service Supervisor Monica Yoss began her work in schools in 1989 when she served as a Payroll Accounts Clerk and Food Service Accountant for the Eugene School District. She took over as the Food Service Supervisor for South Lane School District in 1997 where she is responsible for all meals served to the nearly 3,000 students throughout the district. Monica is a graduate of Cottage Grove High School and earned her Associate's Degree from Lane Community College in 1985.

Transportation Supervisor Wayne Clark moved over from the City of Cottage Grove in 2004 to supervise the school district's transportation system and large fleet of busses. Wayne has been a newspaper editor, journalist, radio announcer and legislative assistant. Wayne also coaches basketball for Cottage Grove High School and has been the voice of CGHS sports for numerous years. Wayne is a 1972 graduate of Cottage Grove High School.

Technology Supervisor David Langan began directing technology services for South Lane School District in 2006. David came to SLSD from Siuslaw School District where he served as Technology Coordinator since 1998. David is a graduate of Sheldon High School and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Redlands. David is an avid aquatics enthusiast.
