Programs of Study
Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources focuses on the essential elements of life—food, water, land, and air. Instruction prepares students for employment in careers that relate to the production, processing, marketing, distribution, financing, and development of agricultural commodities and resources, including food, fiber, wood products, natural resources, horticulture, and other plant and animal products/resources.
The Business and Management program, students learn about business administration but with a sports marketing focus (topics include media, sales, events, law, and ethics). They get to participate in real life learning opportunities where we run a vending business, a sports marketing signage program, order and stock for concessions, create advertisements, manage the athletics website, work with social media and run FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America).
Construction Technology students will engage in activities such as reading blueprints, preparing building sites, starting foundations, erecting structures, installing utilities, finishing surfaces, and providing maintenance. This program includes instruction in common systems of framing, construction materials, estimating, blueprint reading and finish carpentry techniques. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, career and college readiness, career exploration and construction competencies.
Culinary Arts students will build fundamental skills needed for entry level positions working in the food industry. Instructional components include but are not limited to safety and sanitation, use of small equipment and kitchen tools, recipe interpretation, nutrition, basic food identification and preparation. Students are assisted in placement into paid internships with qualified foodservice/hospitality professionals.
The Early Childhood Education program is designed to teach students the aspects of teaching and working with young children. Students will explore career pathways and develop the characteristics of successful teachers and childcare providers through practicums. Students may have the opportunity to take Teacher Cadet, which allows them to get practicum experience working with a teacher in their area of interest.
