  • At Bohemia we are deeply committed to student learning.

What is a Professional Learning Community?

A PLC (Professional Learning Community) is the ongoing process in which our entire staff works together to achieve better results for the students they serve. We have 3 focus areas:

    • A Focus on Learning

    • A Collaborative Culture and Collective Responsibility

    • A Results Orientation

Our staff commit to gather on a weekly basis to work as a collaborative team in which we focus on the following four questions:

    • What do we want students to learn?

    • How do we know they have learned it?

    • How will we respond when some students do not learn?

    • How will we extend the learning for students who are already proficient?

As we work to improve student learning outcomes for ALL students at Bohemia, we have developed our four pillars as a staff (Mission, Vision, Values and Goals). We have reached consensus as a staff to commit our PLC work around the four pillars linked below.
