  • 3-14 Update

While in the process of investigating last Thursday’s incident in the gym parking lot, we came across toy guns that students had in their vehicles. While we can’t say for certain there is a link between the investigation and these items, we wanted to make it clear that items like this are not appropriate on campus or at any school events. These battery powered “SplatR Ball” toy guns are considered replicas of weapons under the South Lane School District board policy JFCJ, “Replicas of weapons, fireworks and pocket knives are also prohibited by Board policy. Exceptions to the district’s replicas prohibition may be granted only with prior principal approval for certain curriculum or school-related activities.” These items need to be left at home. Students who bring these items on campus may face disciplinary measures up to expulsion and including possible law enforcement action. Please help us keep school a distraction free environment where we can all focus on student learning.

  • Incident at CGHS 3/10/22

At the end of the day yesterday, March 10th, we received reports of sounds of what we believe to be BB-like objects in the south parking lot in front of the gym. CGHS admin has been working with the Cottage Grove Police Department to determine the facts of the situation. Out of an abundance of caution, we have closed the gym parking lot to students and have advised them to not hang out, eat lunch or sit in their cars until we can determine the source. We will have staff present in the area during passing periods and lunchtime, as well, CGPD has informed us that they have added additional patrols. Students should report any further incidents to CGHS administration or Cottage Grove Police Department.

  • Crunch (time) & Munch (time)

It's nearly the end of the term, crunch time! This Wednesday, November 17th from 1:15-2:30ish, will be our first Crunch and Munch, a time dedicated to students working with their teachers...and snacks. This is a great time to retake a quiz, finish an assignment, get a little more help or just prepare for finals. While many students will be invited directly by teachers, an invitation is not required. All students are welcome as long as they're working with a staff member.
